Integrating global education into core standards is an important step adopting globalized pedagogy. Below are two examples of "globalized" standards, with potential lesson modifications based on the standards and possible informal outcome assessments. The standards derive from the Missouri high school Government curriculum standards.
Missouri High School Government Curriculum Standards- Theme 1- Tools of Social Science Inquiry- 2.A. Analyze laws, policies, and processes to determine how governmental systems affect individuals and groups in society. Integration of Global Education
Students will analyze a diverse representation of groups both in the US and globally to determine the effects of governmental systems.
Students will apply the concept of majority rule and minority rights to governmental systems and policies.
Specific Lesson Plan Modifications for Global Competencies
Students will compare the create of law process at the local, state and federal levels and include a comparison of at least one foreign government.
Students will analyze voting data comparing various voting blocs in the US and compare that information comparable voting data from at least one other country.
Students will analyze US census data identifying various subgroups and assess the impact of current events on those subgroups.
Informal Outcome Assessments
Students will select a law or policy and create a comparison chart about the impact of the policy of various community groups. (Example photo i.d. laws)
Students will collect and synthesize data related to the law or policy to compare the policy in multiple settings (Example global photo i.d laws)
Students will write a journal entry on an issue of contemporary significance relating to majority rule/minority rights using the persona of someone in a different country or culture.

Students will explore the factors leading to independence both in the US and globally.
Students will explore the global factors developing the rise of popular sovereignty.
Specific Lesson Plan Modifications for Global Competencies
Students will read excerpts from a globally diverse representation of independence declarations and create a comparison chart on the factors advocating for independence.
Students will select a primary source, one historical and current, on the importance of popular sovereignty.
Informal Outcome Assessments
Students will create a Thinglink mapping global independence movements and annotate the map with factors causing independence and links to that country's declaration of independence.
Students will curate a photo gallery on historical and current examples of people exerting their sovereignty.
